Figura Bookkeeping is a one-person practice. I look after the books of sole traders, landlords, trades and small limited companies around Swansea and the wider South Wales area.
Most owners I speak to don't need a full accounting firm on retainer. They need their records kept accurate and up to date by someone who answers the phone and doesn't make them feel daft for asking. That is the job here: bookkeeping, VAT returns prepared and submitted, and year-end accounts for eligible sole traders and partnerships, done properly, for a fee you agree up front.
Being AAT licensed matters more than it sounds. It means my work is held to a professional standard by a recognised body, not just to my own opinion of it.

What the licence covers
AAT licences its members to provide specific services to clients. My services include bookkeeping, VAT return preparation and submission, and year-end accounts preparation for eligible sole traders and partnerships using cash accounting. I work within the scope of my professional authorisation and do not prepare year-end accounts for limited companies.

Records get checked and reconciled properly. When something looks off, I ask you about it rather than guessing and moving on.
Plain language
No jargon, and no assumption that you already know what a journal or an accrual is. I explain what your numbers mean in ordinary words.
Careful with your data
Secure access, only the permissions I actually need, and your financial information kept confidential. Nothing gets shared without your say-so.
Honest about scope
I am clear about what I can take on and what I cannot. When something falls outside my scope, such as limited company year-end accounts or tax advice, I say so plainly and refer you to an accountant.
